學校歷史簡介
澳洲臺灣同鄉會附屬雪梨臺灣學校,成立于 1991 至今已有 30 多年歷史。 在歷任同鄉會長、校長及許多熱心人士的推動之下儼然成爲雪梨知名的中文學校。
成立之宗旨
協助同鄉會員子女暨有志研習中華語文者學習正統中文，進而傳承發揚優良的臺灣文化。
教師資格
全雪梨最堅強師資陣容，凡國内外大專以上本科系畢業暨相關科系畢業者富教學經驗或受過專業訓練之合格教師。
使用教材
臺灣編印之國小國語文課本及國語習作，另加精湛補充教材和部份幼童華語讀本。
招收學生多元化
配合澳洲政府多元文化政策。本校除招收鄉親子弟外，也招收其他民族學生，促進澳洲民族教育之中文水準的提升。
義工制度 & 家長委員
義工制度乃本校之一大特色，本校行政組織上各組人員均由熱心家長義務擔任，且按個人志願與專長分組編制各項工作來協助校務。 不僅家長們可以參與輔導，並由各項活動中加強各項文化的交流，友誼的建立及知識的分享。

History
The Sydney Taiwanese School was started in 1991 by The Australian Taiwanese Friendship Association (ATFA). It was established with the purpose of providing a place for the learning of traditional Mandarin and to cultivate Taiwanese culture.
The school invites experienced qualified teachers and deliver courses from kindergarten (min. ages 3½ above) to Year 9. Enhanced, adult and international courses are also available.
STS welcomes students from variety communities with the aim of promoting the Mandarin in our multicultural society.
Aims
* Teaching of traditional (non-simplified) Chinese characters using mainstream material.
* Use both Chinese phonetic notation and universal Pinyin system in teaching.
* Textbooks ranging from kindergarten to high school levels are sourced from Taiwan.
* Encouraging of extracurricular activities such as public speaking competitions, essay competitions, poetry appreciation and story telling.
* Computer aids for the learning of Taiwanese cultural, festivals and songs.
* STS seeks to provide an environment conducive to learning Mandarin.
* Develop students’ ability to read, listen, speak and write in Mandarin Chinese.
* Promote and cultivate traditional Taiwanese culture.
